Discover Orly and Rungis

The All Suites Orly-Rungis aparthotel is located at 16, rue du Pont de Halles in Rungis. Its location is therefore perfect for enjoying both Orly and Rungis. The first commune was built in the 12th century. At the time, this village belonging to the canons of Notre-Dame de Paris had few inhabitants. Many years later, just after the Second World War, the town was chosen for the location of Orly Airport, whose first runway was completed in 1947. Although the commune is now a travel hub for many travellers, some of them extend their stop to visit historic buildings like the Saint-Germain church. Built in the 10th century, it was largely destroyed during the Hundred Years War before being restored in keeping with its original spirit. This historical feature allows you to admire a 12th century nave with enlarged windows and extended by a Renaissance chancel. The church is also home to a beautiful mural of the Nativity. Orly also has many contemporary works of art. Among them, Olivier Agid’s pylon bird sculpture, the Léo Ferré mural by Miss Tic, the bridge and sculpture games by Philippe Goy and the memorial stone marking the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery, designed by Marie-Claude Vaillant Couturier, are really worth a detour.

Rungis is also worth a look. While the town is home to a 17th-century aqueduct and a two-hundred-year-old lime tree, it is best known for the Market of National Interest at Rungis. It is an absolute must-see. Known as MIN Rungis by many tourists and by the people who work there, it is the place professionals go to buy exotic fruits and vegetables, fish and meat from France and from all over the world. It has a surface area of 578 acres. The Belle Epine shopping centre is also very close to the All Suites aparthotel. It’s a great place to shop with more than 160 stores selling clothes, high-tech accessories and more… You can also shop for food there.
