Rent an aparthotel in Choisy-le-Roi

Very close to Paris stands the town of Choisy-le-Roi. The commune was given this name by King Louis XV on 25 October 1739 when he bought its castle for one of his seigneuries. Today, Choisy-le-Roi still bears witness to this prestigious past. It also offers a way of life that appeals to its just over 40,000 inhabitants. They are well aware that they live in a particularly pleasant town in the Ile-de-France region. Rent an All Suites aparthotel to discover a commune steeped in history and tour the region without missing out on the joys of Parisian life.

Discover Choisy-le-Roi

Did you know that Choisy-le-Roi is the only commune in the Val-de-Marne department to extend over both sides of the Seine? While this fact may at first seem insignificant, it is nevertheless essential in the town’s history. It gives Choisy-le-Roi a unique character. By renting an All Suites aparthotel in Choisy-le-Roi, you can therefore expect to discover an unusual commune and a great place to live. The ideal way to visit it is to start at your tourist office. As well as the wealth of information it can provide, the building is really worth a look in its own right. Designed in 1764 by the king’s architect, it consists of three “U”-shaped buildings that formed the basis of a presbytery. At the time, Choisy-le-Roi also had a prestigious castle. Unfortunately, little remains of it because the sovereigns lost interest in it and it was destroyed in the 1789 revolution. However, Choisy-le-Roi still bears witness to its prestigious past, including two guard pavilions that are now located at the entrance to the town hall park.
As history would have it, Choisy-le-Roi became the home of Rouget de Lisle. The writer of the French national anthem spent the last years of his life there before his death on 26 June 1836. A statue of him stands in front of the house he once lived in. Rent an aparthotel in Choisy-le-Roi and get access to a very interesting heritage.

A unique visit not to be missed in Choisy-le-Roi?

Choisy-le-Roi is also known for its Saint-Louis honorary cathedral. Built on the banks of the Seine from 1225, it was destroyed in 1759 and became a royal church. Although the works did not go as planned, this place is still pretty impressive and its beautiful sacristy is well worth a look.
